Hi all!
I tried to compress a DVD in a DIVX using AutoGordianKnot, but the resulting file (AVI) has a big problem: video and audio are completely unsynchronized.

I'm new to the matter. My desire is to copy more DVDs to one single disk by converting them in DVX files.
Could anyone suggest me how to do it?
Is AGK a good tool for my aim or is there anything better?

Thank yoy :)

First of all Welcome to Forum !

I am glad you like AutoGK but i can suggest before starting posts and encoding , a nice lecture. :readfaq:

There are several sticky and faq in this AutoGk subforum try reading these.

And... if your problem isn't resolved try a SEARCH in forum... (tip arcoos protection/ripguard)

More than likely your problem is related to the specific title you converted. I've had the best luck so far by ripping the appropriate movie files with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, then encoding the .VOB with AutoGK. When there has been an audio synch problem (which is rare) it's easily repaired with VirtualDubMod.

I started from beginning, reading some guides in the main page of the site (is there a forum dedicated to AGK? I couldn't find it).
Especially, I followed the indications in the section for backing up/compressing a DVD. These instructions lead me to install GK rip & code packs... but I fell in confusion.
Summarizing, I think that guide doesn't exactly fit my needs as it is for use of GK and i'd use AGK.
I ran Virtualdubmod to see if I was able to get the audio shift, but I couldn't (should exist an "Audio" menu?).

The title I tried to copy is Matrix.
As I said, audio is unsynchronized; besides, video isn't very good in quality ("snow effect"). Should I use GK to get better results?

I think I'll unistall everything. Then I'll get again AGK, but use it just for compressing the VOBs got by DVD Decrypter.

Do you agree? Suggestions? Excuse me for confusion...
Thank's a lot

Hi-

The Matrix is an old title, and therefore you shouldn't have any synch problems. As CWR03 suggested, decrypt using DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode (up at the top, Mode->IFO).

As for bad quality, a number of things could have happened. To diagnose the problem properly, we'd need the AutoGK log.

And there's a combined GKnot/AutoGK Forum:
