Like jptheripper said.....

what ver of CCE SP, what DVD are you encoding, any preprocessing w/DvdRemake, vobblanker, fixvts, pcgedit or anything else.... how did you rip the disc to your HD

All of this info would be of help and anything else you can tell but.....

just been messing with this new build. and it keeps hanging. no cpu activity. no refresh of window which just becomes white. and no error msg's.

really doesn't help

Please post your REBUILDER.INI file so I can see your setup. Also, let me know what decrypter you are using. "Dual Processing" has no effect when using CCE -- CCE will not allow two instances of itself.

Well, I see that according to your INI file the version of CCE you are using is not the trial version -- are you positive that is correct?

Could you also post the REBUILDER.LOG file? I'd like to see how far it gets.

jjaomni

here it is. i think you might be right. i am not sure what version cce i have. what are the encodes included in the install and are they any good?
http://pc-trends.com/rebuilder.rar

this one is with it as trial

It looks like the LOGs where CCE is set to "Trial" are completing.

jjaomni
8th May 2006, 22:45
well since cce does not have dual core support what do you suggest. please.

????

Actually CCE supports multiple threads. What it doesn't allow is multiple copies of itself running at one time. It makes no difference, though. DVD Rebuilder ignores the setting for multiple copies when CCE is selected.

I'm confused. I looked at your log for the trial version and I see this:

[12:06:35] Phase I, PREPARATION started.
- CCE 2.70.2.0 encoder selected.
- VTSM_02: 41,776 sectors.
-- Scanning and writing .D2V & .AVS files

...

- Updated IFO: VTS_02_0.IFO
- Correcting VTS Sectors...
- Building ISO Image...
- Removing DVD files
- ISO Image successfully created.
[13:20:31] Phase III, REBUILD completed in 9 minutes.

Done.
[13:20:31] PREPARE/ENCODE/REBUILD completed in 74 min.

That means it finished correctly. What exactly is wrong?

batch prosseccing still stalls and i get the program hung up if i load it out with more then one project file. that second log should be 11 moives long. only 3 and i was just asking if two porcess enocde is better then the cce encodes.

"i was just asking if two porcess enocde is better then the cce encodes."

huh?

and if three movies work in the batch, try doing the fourth movie by itself, maybe there is a problem with it

or maybe you are out of space?

jjaomni

yeap did that and it processed fine.
cce does not use the full cpu as you can see in the tag at the bottom cce uses about 70% of cpu.

There is no difference between batch mode and just loading a project and running it. It's just done automatically. It has to be something in your method -- because it seems to only be happening to you. I do anywhere between 2 and 5 DVDs every night using batch mode -- and lots of others do batch encodes as well. I'm not sure what might be happening in your case.

is this possibly a heat or power issue where you are just exceeding the limits of your pc?

or do you have a timed shutdown, power saver that is causing this?

if disk 4 crashes in batch but not in single mode, your pc is the problem, not rb

i dobut my pc is over heating. but i seem to cruising along now. must of just been the freshout of the box feel that my computer did like and needed to twek it self or something. batched 7 movies last night and went just fine.

550 watt antec power supply powering the little beasty with plenty of case fans and ac in my apartment. used an older cce encoder version and threw it into the enocder folder when i installed it. but i am not sure when cce encoder really kicks in. it seems to crusie along once the encoder box keeps kicking on and off.

It could be your hard drive if you are running a sata drive. I had problems with RB crashing when building the iso. I had to turn off the NCQ option for my 150GB WD Raptor drive.

check your event viewer to see if you have any hardware error messages. I use to get error 51 hard drive paging errors.

Hey all,

I've been having issues with RB hanging too. Using CCE SP 2.7 trial and using movie only mode, with custom matrices on RME. Doesn't seem to happen all the time, probably about 75% of the time and seems to occur during the encoding phase.

Did a bunch of tests on my machine, ran 4 hour stress test on my CPU with no problems, ran memtest-86 3.2 and found that one of my RAM sticks was bad. Pulled it, tested the other stick and found no problems.

I thought this would resolve the issue but RB still hangs, I can use CTRL+ALT+DEL to get out of RB but am unable to restart RB unless I restart my computer. Would having the working folder and output folder on a drive that isn't the RB install drive cause problems?

jdobbs

Stress tests aren't enough. You have to use CCE for an extended period to determine stability. because it uses memory and processor to a greater degree than stress testers. Many have found that to be a fact. It is almost certainly problem in your system -- probably memory, possibly heat.

Would having the working folder and output folder on a drive that isn't the RB install drive cause problems? No. I use a different drive.
