Okay, I might be pushing my luck here, but I would like to encode some video files into 368x208 mp4 files compatible with the PSP. Is this possible? I tried the usual ready made tools but they all require some pre-encoding (Xvid/Divx) which turn my very very detailed source into mud. I'd love to go from my MJPEG directly to a PSP compatible mp4 file - if I could somehow generate the thumbnail, even better! :-)

Yeah, I'm on thin ice here, I guess...

Tried to make it work yesterday but it kept asking me for .Net - just installed it, still doesn't work....

Anyway, thanks for the input.

There is a good reason for it asking about .Net.
You need it! You need .Net 2 in order for MeGUI to work. Just download and install it and everything will work like a charm.

Well, I've been messing with this thing all day and although I am able to encode the clip just fine when attempting to play the mp4 clip on my PSP I get an error claiming 'unsupported data'. Any ideas?

yikes! where to start :D

the psp is very fickle, the settings for the video must be within a certain limit. Audio must be 48khz AAC LC. video must be run through atomchanger.

then, just to confuse, there is an issue with x264 using 2 threads on some cpus!

if you encode using my profile, follow the audio settings on my sig page, use the atomchanger there but still get probs, let us know all your settings.

I have had problems muxing the audio. MeGUI crashes when trying to do it. I also couldn't figure out how to create an *aac file - every tool (even BeSweet Light) is trying to save the file in mp4 format. And mp4 formats don't seem to work when muxing audio - even tried mp4creator via the commandline.... frustrating as hell.

Finally I created an mp3 audio file and managed to mux it with m4ui or something (it's on my other system). However, after adding the mp3 audio to the mp4 video file it won't play in Quicktime anymore, but it works fine in VLC. Probably not a good sign - LOL - seems I need to create an AAC file, but can't find out how... burned the entire Sunday trying to make this work and I'm not exactly a noob IYKWIM :-)

ANY help would be appreciated at this point...

yeah for AVC it needs to be an AAC file. creating the AAC file in the mp4 container should work just fine, not a prob to have audio.mp4.

try updating MP4Box, i use the one with yamb 1.6 which is included in the installer version here:
http://yamb.unite-video.com/download.html

then you can use megui (set mp4box paths in settings) to mux your AAC mp4 audio and raw or mp4 video into a nice audio+video mp4.

I personally use belight with my nero dll's and it works just fine :)
