I've ripped the subs with SubRip1.50 and everything looks ok but I when I go to mux an AVI, MP3, Chapters and subtitles, I end up with everything but the subtitles. This is the YAMB log if it helps:

All I'm trying to do is to get the subs to work...any idea would help.

Which player did you use ?

Did you have any message from MP4Box during mux process ? (i.e check "View Extra Info....." in MP4Box Options tab.)

I think in Nero Showtime you cannot see the subtitles.
Also I have 2 players with "Nero Digital" support (MP4) and both of them cannot display the subtitles made with Yamb or MeGui. The subtitles made with Nero Recode are displayed correct.
Extension of the files: mp4.
For me (because of standalone) the subtitle format made by Yamb or Megui is useless. I hope Recode will improve the quality of subtitles when using .srt files, adding black outline and preview in a bigger window to see the characters correct.
Also the subtitles made with mp4box are jumping. Lines with "abc" are showed in a lower position than the lines with "pqy", I can't choose the desired font, position or the size for it.

huh...that's strange.

I can't choose the desired font, position or the size for it.
You can do that but with ttxt subtitles file.

Kurtnoise13 - I tried the MP4 on Nero Showtime and Media Player Classic. Neither of them would show the subtitles.

Tried it with VLC and it worked fine. I wish it would work with Media Player Classic. Don't know why it doesn't.

Use VMR9 Renderless in MPC seetings.

OK. I went to Option>Output>VMR9 Renderless>Apply and then opened the file and it still didn't work. Did I do it right?

Yes you've done right....

YAMB converts SubRipText (SRT) to MP4 compliant TTXT base text which works fine in Media Player Classic... as long as you select the correct option during playback.

While the file is playing in Media Player Classic, go to: -

SeeMoreDigital - the subtitles aren't an option...they're grayed out as if they aren't there. But in VLC, I was able to play them so I know the subs are there. Is there something I'm missing in YAMB when I'm muxing? I'm using SubRip for the subtitles...can MPC use those or do they have to be in a different format?

I tried with 6.4.8 and then with 6.4.9. I would really like to use MPC if I can get the subs to work for me. VLC doies see them but MPC works better for me...seems to use less resources and I like the navigation. Any suggestions?

Are you using an external splitter? If you do so MPC won't see the subtitles. If you use Haalis splitter just right click on the symbol and select them. You can also control the splitter through play->filters in MPC. It should be the one right on the bottom.

I'm muxing in srt format from SubRip 1.50 with YAMB. I'm not familur with Haalis but I'll take a look at it right now. MPC is by far quicker than VLC and uses less resources (my opinion.)

MPC is by far quicker than VLC and uses less resources (my opinion.)If YAMB converted the SRT subs to TTXT correctly (which it sounds like it has) and everything in MediaPlayer Classic is set-up properly, you don't need Haali splitter installed.... I don't ;)

Try this latest beta build of Media Player Classic: -

Go to Options and select either one of the "yellow highlighted video overlay options: -

I can even play MP4 in MPC. In VLC or in ShowTime is OK.

I can even play MP4 in MPC. In VLC or in ShowTime is OK.You probably need to select the required options in your MPEG-4 DSdec filter.

If you have XviD's DSdec installed, make sure you have "mp4v" enabled via the "FourCC Support" Options ;)

Thanks! Is working.Great... The only bummer about using XviD's DSdec with MP4 files is, if you have any MPEG-4 A/SP streams with aspect ratio signalling, it wont be recognised.

FFdshow's DSdec filters fair better in this regard though ;)

VLC is the only one that I get the subtitles to work in. Neither ShowTime nor MPC work. The movie and chapters work fine but no subs...they're not even an option.

TTXT subtitles won't work in ShowTime player as it only (generically) supports VOBsubs.

With regard to MPC.... I can only assume there's something wrong with your video overlays!

Is DirectX fully up-to date?

Why would the subs work in VLC and not MPC? Any ideas?

How do I check to see what my DirectX is and what should it be?
