Resolution Choices

He guys I'm picking up a Portable DVD Player that does Divx. It's got a 480x272 pixel screen. I want to encode some disks for travel, first off can portable DVD Players play Divx files from DVD's or do they need to be read from CD's? 2nd when I encode should I set the resolution for close to what the LCD screen supports or go for more standard resolutions and let the player Scale? I'll be making the disks just for the Portable and would like to get 4-5 movies on a DVD if possible...

you can play them off of either CD or DVD, and for the resolution its up to you. If you want to encode them to a full home theater resolution so you could play them on more than this device then just let the portable device scale down to the lcd
