According to the log it looks as though the file should be C:\Documents and Settings\UNI\Os meus documentos\Os meus vídeos\CELINE\celine_x\VTS_01_1.avi

Can you navigate to and view the contents of the folder? If not, you may need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" under Folder options.

Forgot to say that all the temporary folders where there, **.movie.avi, first pass settings,***.avs, etc.

only the main movie was missing.

All those files you mentioned are in an autogktmp folder which is created as soon as you save the project. The finished file is located in the same folder as the original .VOB, not with the *_movie.avi.

Sorry but that also crossed my mind, so i performed a search for *.avi on hard disk, and still was missing....

I just noticed you used Gordian Knot and not AutoGK. I've had the same problem before, but it wasn't hard to correct. Just open the completed video_movie.avi in VirtualDubMod, click Streams > Stream list, click Add and add the converted audio file (or the AC3 track if that was your original intent), click Video > Direct stream copy, then save it.

I noticed in the final VirtualDub portion of the log that the folders/filenames are separated by a double-backslash - I don't have a log on my drive at the moment, but I'm ripping a DVD to run a sample to see what mine looks like.

CWR03

Look at these lines:

VirtualDub.Open("C:\\Documents and Settings\\UNI\\Os meus documentos\\
Os meus v\xEDdeos\\CELINE\\celine_x\\
VTS_01_1_Movie.avi",0,0);
VirtualDub.Append("C:\\Documents and Settings\\UNI\\Os meus documentos\\
Os meus vídeos\\CELINE\\celine_x\\VTS_01_1_Credits.avi");

That's why it didn't mux.

So, in the future rips one better forget target folders with spaces on it's name, right?

CWR03

No, something went wrong during the process and the target got screwed. See the two portions in bold? There are some extra characters in the log, which means when VirtualDub went to look for the encoded files, they weren't where it was told they'd be. Look at the end of the same section of your log post - there's yet another line that's not right. If the rest of the encode went properly, muxing should go smoothly in the method I described above.

Edit: You will need to open both the *_movie.avi and the *_credits.avi by using the File > Open Append option and adding the second file in order to mux the whole thing.

Ok, i've done that. Just wanted to prevent this from happening again, that's why i asked you if the problem had anything to do with the folder's name...

I've had all sorts of odd problems, including that one, if the drive was badly fragmented. I now defrag the drive before I rip a DVD and never have those problems.

@omadawn

Hi!was encoding DVDaudioAre you referring to a DVD-A disc?

If not, as an experiment, try using MPEG Mediator or VirtualDubMOD to convert/compress a small part of the video - to see if the video can be DIRECTLY converted to an .AVI container...

omadawn
26th May 2006, 13:40
Alanis morrissete - jagged little pill live, DVD-10 NTSC 4x3 ;
THE SAME HAPPENS WITH: freedy mercury - the video collection DVD-5 PAL 4X3

omadawn
26th May 2006, 13:54
In virtualdubMOD set the video to direct stream copy gives the error of: the file uses an algorithm not compatible with avi container

if i set to full processing mode it saves to avi well

setarip_old
26th May 2006, 19:59
if i set to full processing mode it saves to avi wellSo, at least you now know that the source material is not the cause of your problem...

So, at least you now know that the source material is not the cause of your problem...

if so, why the error in direct stream copy mode?

omadawn
31st May 2006, 19:11
Now tryed with divX pro 5, compression check ok, first pass went well...2nd pass: Virtual dub error: the function setmode was called on a stream[?]that hasn´t been previously initialised with setsource

i think this movie simply does not "want" to change format:mad:

setarip_old
31st May 2006, 21:32
if so, why the error in direct stream copy mode?Because your source material is .VOB/MPEG2 - and you can't use VirtualDubMOD in "Direct Stream Copy" mode with NON-AVI input...
