Hello!

I have a problem playing XVid compressed video stream. It works when i install Matroska Codec pack, but then any XVid video stream refuses to play in Windows Media Player, BS Player... only Zoom Player plays it. In other players, error occures. Where is the problem? It have allready installed Nimo, K-Lite and some other codec packs. Could this be the problem? To many codec packs?

Thanx in advance!

yes. I wouldn't say this definitly *is* the problem, but the probability is high. Also uninstalling them might not solve the problem, as they might not uninstall correctly. At least Nimo, as the only pack i ever tried, left my system so corrupted the only solution was to reinstall windows. However this was a long time ago. It might got better since then.
I'd try to uninstall them in the reverse order of installation, then install only the basic filters. If you still got problems after that, you will probably have to reinstall windows. You could also try with windows system restore, reverting to a point before any pack was installed.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You may want to try GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe). It is designed to both tell you about your file's codecs, but also, it will show you how the file is rendered. The rendering info may be able to help you find out which of your many codecs is actually getting in the way of XviD content.

Also, somewhere in Doom9 it says that codec packs are really bad and you shouldn't install them because they screw up your computer...
