Hi there,
Does anyone know whats up with avi.NET? The website http://www.clonead.co.uk/ is not working and there hasn't been a new version in ages - not that theres anything wrong with the current version, but I was hoping to see more features added like support for xvid smp codec etc.
Thanx

what about ongoing support. Anyone know if they are continuing to work on avi.net?
Win no more development on Mpeg Mediator or AutoGK I would hate to see this one go down too. Particularly since Dr2B10 is in the shape it is in.
I know that people will disagree with me but I would like to see some of these tools cost enought that the authors can afford to stick with it for long periods of time. Right now I think many of them quit (or slow down) when it is no longer fun.
I would like to see support for output files up to DVD size (4.5Gb). Without this it is not much use for HD.

There's a reason for that.
avi.NET's main priority is standalone support. Most if not all AVI standalone's wont play AVI's larger than 2Gig.
Fair enough, and thanks for your reply. I actually want to play these files from my PC DVD drive via a ShowCenter, which avoids the 2Gb issue.
I shall have to try splitting my HD files into three equal parts before encoding.
A bit of a shame though. Perhaps you could consider incorporating this in some future release.
any .ts or .tp support (high definition files0

Are there any plans for incorporating DivX 6 features like chapters, menus etc. that will play on DivX Ultra certified standalone players? The new version can be called avi.NET Ultra :)

What happened to the option for higher quality audio - ie 160kbps mp3?
It seemed to be available, then disappear?

I think I should put in a bitrate option in my Audio Mod Package (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=111077).
Just beware that this would affect the final output filesize.
check the forum tomorrow for an update... ;)

When can we start paying for avi.net? Will we get a chance in "Ultra"?

I would like to see more choices for the quantizer. For example I like to run Divx at 3.3; that is 60% (I think).

Thanks for the continued interest in avi.NET and the time spent on the add-on mod programs which are more than welcome.
I'd love nothing more than to spend some time to carry on with avi.NET but at the moment I can't. A month ago my brother was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident that is going to change his life forever and I've tried to spend as much time with him as possible.
When things like this happen it makes you re-address your life and as much as I love doing the 'avi.NET' stuff it's just not the right time for me at the moment.
Thanks again for the continued interest.
my prayers go out to you and your family.

I think all avi.NET fans appreciate what you have done for us with avi.NET and we'll be thinking of you and your family. May the future bring better times again.
