DivX HD, is this possible to encode or transcode now?

I just read the DivX website. They're promoting DivX HD, is this possible to do? I know it's not true HD at 720p. :stupid:

Yes it is possible. All you do is encode in HD profile from a HD source and use a high bitrate....

Maybe what Divx uses is different, but that should techinically be considered Divx HD.

The only thing defining "HD" is really the framesize. 720p is 1280x720. 1080i/p is 1920x1080.

If you have a source that is that resolution, then pretty much any codec can do it

I love how DivX's marketing department makes it sound like DivX HD is something new and exciting, thats unique to DivX and revolutionary.
