Hi folks i have just bought King Kong for the kids and i am having trouble making a back up copy for them to play. I am using DVD Decrpyter and have never had any problems untill now. The problem is in VTS_01_4.VOB file. The error message is

Does anyone know what has happened? Is this a new protection put on? Or is my new disc corrupted. I dont want the kids to know i have the movie untill i have a back up. Any help very much appreciated.

Hi!
Your problem is not due to copy protection for this DVD title. Try cleaning the disc. If that doesn't resolve your problem, return it to the place of purchase and exchange it for a new replacement...

Hi Setarip,
I'm curious as to what gives this away as not being a copy protection issue.
Would it be the line 'Interpretation : Check Condition'?
Thanks!

I'm curious as to what gives this away as not being a copy protection issue. The fact that as an owner of the DVD I, as well as many other owners who have posted at this and other forums, know that this release doesn't contain any special newer ("ARccOS", "RipGuard", or similar) copy protection...

Aaah ok, I was just curious as to whether there was a way of reading the I/O error the DVD Decrypter throws out that would make it easy to diagnose?
Thanks Buddy

Unfortunately, bad pressings seem to be occurring with greater frequency. To make things more confusing, such DVDs often play properly, despite not being readily copiable...
