I've recently come back to using Scenarist and I've come across some problems. When I import a JPEG and use it as a sub picture the items (text, pictures, symbols) becomes pixelated like I was using the Dissolve function in Photoshop, with Black colours scenarist imports them nearly whole, with blue, it's unreadable and with red its just a few pixels here & there. I've tried different colours with the same results pretty much.

I've never had this problem before, and I'm not sure if it's Scenarist of Photoshops fault.

Hi kingtim,
i think the problem is that your subpicture doesn't have PURE red or blue color. Check this in photoshop. Remember your sub can only have 4 different colors (with one dedicated to transparency)

jpegs almost never have pure colors, it's the nature of lossy compression. Force the colors to pure and save as bmp.
You can also play with the conversion rules to get Scenarist to accept a range of colors as one of the 4. For example if the red is not pure you could use something like:
Color 3(P)=Conversion
{
Red=>
Green=<
Blue=<
RGB Color=RGB
{
Red=240
Green=30
Blue=30
}
}Which means any color with red > 240 AND green < 30 AND blue < 30 will map to the Pattern color.

I tried messing around with the colours, setting them to > & < but to no success, I'll try using bitmaps. Cheers Lads

In Photoshop(CS2 at least) you can change the colour table( what colours are in the image. And you can set this to any number you like( 4 for instance). Go to image/mode/indexed colour, then colour table. You can't have indexed and non indexed layers(so you will either have to merge or copy to a new document). Here's a 4-colour colour table:
