Manual deinterlacing?

Hello,

I'm looking for a way for manual deinterlacing as in TMPGenc :

AVIdemux2 is pretty good but doesn't have this functionnality. TMPGEnc works under wine, but doesn't detect xvid codec. So I can't encode in xvid format (and don't want MPEG1/2).

Is there anybody who knows how can i do that?

look at mencoder...specificially in the -vf section there are SEVERAL deinterlacers...find what works good
