DivX with 50 fps. [Archive]

I have tried the guide for deinterlacing on the website
http://www.100fps.com/. In this guide the movies frames are splitter into fields and you becomes 50 frames/sec. This is processes with the Virtualdub filter Deinterlace - Smooth. This should be saved in DivX, but I get an error window from DivX saying: Source frame rate is too high for the selected profile.

Which profile should I choose?

What are the dimensions of the source ?

The original is produced in IUVCR uncompressed in 768x576. I am using divX version 6.2.2

You could also NOT deinterlace and set "Preserve Interlace" in DivX options.

I have just tried the Preserve Interlace option, but with the same result. When the bit rate is chanced to 30 fps in the frame rate option in Virtualdub then everything is fine.
So I guess there must be a limit in DivX version 6.2.2. I wonder if the also is a limit in 3.1, 5.x versions.

I have tried DivX version 5.2.1 and 3.11 and they are working fine. What have they done to the version 6.x?

Preserve interlace means that you don't have to use that VDub filter.

I don't think any DivX profiles allow video higher than 30fps.

Thanks for you help. I just using version 3.11 and it gives good results with 50 fps.

Divx 6 even isn't that great....Xvid is generally better than Divx. Consider Xvid 1.1 instead of any Divx version, let alone 3, which is very old and obsolete and bad-quality.

I can also use Xvid and are testing it. Looking forward to that day, where an official version can use both of my cores in my 820 Pentium processor.

I the guide for analog capture chapter on this site (7.1 Processing the video using VirtualDub) is it mentioned that you can process video with 50 fps in DivX in the same way as in http://www.100fps.com/.
I guess a little update is in place.
