For some strange reason, it seems my DVD burner is failing verification tests done by Imgburn. I have the latest version up and running but this has happened 6/8 times so far. I'm using media that I've been using for a long time which is Verbatim 8X DVD+R media. With PlexTools, the media is identified as good media so I suppose there is no problems there. Any suggestions to try and pin down the problem causing verification errors? :o

Hi!

1) Do the burned DVDs PLAY properly?

2) If you've been getting heavy use of your burner, it might be beneficial to run a DVD/CD cleaning disc on it. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US...

3/6 play properly on my Sony standalone player and that player is quite picky. The others did show alot of pixelation across the screen so straight to the bin they went. As for cleaning solutions, I'm quite the neat freak when it comes to keeping things tidy.;) My DVDs, and DVD+R media are as clean as possible but I'll see if I can get my hands on a DVD/CD cleaning system.

I just wanted to make certain that you understand I'm suggesting running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner - to clean your burner's internal parts (including the lens[es])...

I have the same problem sometimes with my Plextor 716A, but it only gives me the mentioned error when burning at 8x.

So usually I stick with 4x just to play safe. No problems.

Cleaned my drive with a laser lens cleaner and had Imgburn write Final Fantasy VII Advent Children R1 NTSC at 2.4X to a DL-DVD+R. Writing was successful however, verification identified 2 errors. Played back fine on my Sony DVD player. Today I later received the BSOD while defragmenting my DVD9 drive, I ran memory tests, HD tests for my WD drives and all passed. Ran various antivirus & spyware suites and nothing came up other than a few regular cookies. Thanks for the help but I think it would be best to take this thread elsewhere. :o
