just isntalled the latest versionxmpeg and am encountering an odd problem:

my file sizes are huge!! a 1 or 2 min. clip set is over 2 gigs. an actual dvd doesn't use that much room, so i am wondering what is going on. i get this when i use either divx or dvd settings.

any advice on how to remedy this would be appreciated, since xmpeg is supposed to shrink the video size of the clips, not increase them!

thanks.

Hi!

1) Load the XMPEG-created video file into VirtualDub or VirtualDubMOD

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

i was using xmpeg just fine beforehand, with reasonable file sizes. unistalling it and installing the new one is when my problem occured. rather than installing a new app (since xmpeg has been fine on its own) i am hoping to find out if there is a setting w/in it i need to adjust.

So, does that mean you're unwilling to post the file information?

i'll get around to it
i guess i meant that i was reluctant to install another app when i hadn't used it before, but i will install vitrualdub and post my results.

thanks.
