Is there anyway I can control the max bitrate from my encodes with Nero Digital H264 AVC? I would like to have better control.

If you are using Nero Recode, it should be controlling the max bitrate that you specified. If you do not know how to specify a bitrate, refer to Doom 9's Nero Recode FAQ (search doom9.org) or listen up. In Nero Recode, when you add a file, you have to uncheck "fit to target" on bottom right corner above Next, and then use the slider on the right colum next to video duration to specify the bitrate. In order to get a bitrate higher than the profile allows for, you need to click more, then change the profile, and then the maximum bitrate that you can specify increases or decreases, based on the profile selection.

No.

I would like to have better control.

Use x264.

@siddharthagandhi

Nero only allows you to specify an target bitrate. Not a "this is the maximum bitrate I want the encoder to use".

Thank You Audionut for understanding the question.

audionut: oh i just realized im so stupid of course....i didnt realize max bitrate i was thinking average bitrate

in that case i recall my previous comments
