Well, you said feel free to correct you if you made any errors, so here goes.

Firstly your minor error: Rule 9
9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.

Please edit your title to include some indication of the nature of the problem you're having. We ask this of users, so that when others do a forum search they can see which of the resulting threads may be connected to their problem.

Which brings me onto your major error: Rule 1!
1) Read up before asking! There are tons of guides, FAQs and each forum has a dedicated Q&A thread with additional info.

1a) Use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered.

A forum search for your error message "DVDAuthor failed for unknown reasons" would have found your answer soon enough as this has been asked several times before. So many times, that I made a sticky for the top of the forum entitled "Problems specific to AVI input" and this is one of the answers therein.

If you read that sticky, I'm pretty sure it'll help. :)

Cheers
Nick

Well, a couple of days on, and you still didn't edit the title as requested. So I took the liberty of doing it for you.

Rule 16 ;)
