Hey,
Just a baseline - I encode at 1.4GB using Xvid. I use StaxRip is my program of choice.
I'm just wondering - should I encode using always AC3, with a chance of lower video quality for the longer movies? Or should I use AAC 5.1 instead, saving space and giving the video more space to breathe?
Audio quality is important to me, but I'd rather have slightly lower quality audio and have better looking video - having video at something under 0.2 Bits per Pixel is not for me. I like 0.25 bits or more per pixel for my encodes.
Your thoughts?
P.S. I'd also be intrested to hear how you encode your video - though I'd prefer if you'd keep the procedures you do to be using Xvid. Just my personal choice.
