looking for best wireless solution for pc to tv?

can anyone provide a suggestion for how best to send a vga or preferably dvi signal from a pc upstairs to an lcd tv located downstairs.

the lcd is a 32 inch samsung with vga s-video scart and hdmi inputs

i have a budget for this of £100 - 150

i have also considered the possibility of turning the config on its head and connecting the pc directly to the tv via dvi to hdmi and then having a wireless vga to vga (if such a device exists) to get the signal back upstairs

i already have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse which has been tested and will service either display device whichever way round things are set up

any advise or alternate solutions humbly accepted

Do not know of any wireless VGA or DVI technology.

If you have an old pc that you are not using, you could network two computers (wirelessly), hook one of them to your TV, serve content from the other pc. All you might need, in this case, is a graphics card with S-Video or DVI output. This might fit in your budget. Problem is, wireless is not 100% reliable in my experience. 99% reliable might not be good enough.

I output to a TV via S-Video, and the output looks gorgeous. Would like to hear from anyone doing DVI on a PC to HDMI on a TV, as you suggest. S-video might not work as well in your case as in my case, because your LCD TV may support higher resolutions than my SDTV.

Would also like to hear back from any early adopters of Intel VIIV, to see if this technology could be used to serve a need such as yours. Maybe a VIIV PC serving up content to a media adapter of some sort that is connected to a TV.

a full pc upgrade is around six months off but i have been interested in the viiv technology also, i have noticed sony viao have a viiv driven htpc for about a grand with a hdmi out based around an nvidia 6600 graphics card.

if the cheap technology isnt there currently maybe i will just wait ;)
