Dear All,

I have an MP3 File which does have an audio content, because I can hear parts of the MP3 file content with Media Player 10.

Trying to extract the "good parts" from this defect MP3 File with Nero Wave Edit I could not open the file. Same happens if I try to re-encode the file with Easy Lame.

Is there any freeware tool that allows me to open such a defect file and extract the "good parts" or which re-encodes the file to make it run/editible?

Looking forward to your replies.

Best regards

Try mp3val. It's for validating mp3s, but it can also fix mp3s. I only used it only once. I had an mp3 with a an error at the end, I used the fix function and it removed the part with the error.

Dear Slogra,

Your tip was very good and worked. It was just a little complicating to work with this DOS application under WinXP.

Thank you for your help.
