Someone konws how to extract the single audio and subtitle streams from a .divx container? I have done this file using the vdubmod but when I try to extract the single streams from the .divx file using again vdubmod

1. I see only the audio streams and not the subtitle streams
2. When demuxing the audio streams vdubmod gives an error.

Thanks in advance

Hi!

1) When you created the DivX-compressed .AVI, what audio format did you use?

2) Did you mux in the subtitles, or did you make them a permanent part of the video?

1. I use the mp3 format so the file can be read also from standalone player

2. I have muxed inside the subtitles using the Srt2DivX program (found on the UserXp site) cause is the only program I found the let me to mux subtitles into a .divx container (unfortunately vdubmod doesn't allow to output d .divx file!!!!)

cause is the only program I found the let me to mux subtitles into a .divx container

you can mu/create xsubs into divx container with:

Srt2bmp (http://projects.gdion.biz/guides/dmfwithxsub.html)(still the best 1 for me and most customizable one)

Avisub (http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAviSub.html)

DivxMuxGui (http://www.propr.de/divxmuxgui/)

At the moment i dont think theres any tool that can extract xsubs from the Divx container.

Someone konws how to extract the single audio ....from a .divx container

rename the file extension to from.divx to .avi and use virtualdub to extract the audio to mp3/wav

Thanks for you kindness. Anyway when I have used the vdubmod to demux, I havn't renamed the files, I have chosen the Open->All files option. Isn't it the same thing?

avi-muxGUI (http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/) can be used to extract audio tracks from avi files too.

i tried that here and it doesnt demux, Virtualdubmod doesnt support the divx extension/container

you need to change the filetype from .divx to .avi to be able to demux either video or audio

Vdubmod doesnt (i think) output .divx files only .avi

you created your file with vdubmod, then you added your subs with DivxMediabuilder(srt2divx)

if you just want to backup your dvd with subs there are better free alternatives:

1-use Avi.net to convert your video, extract subs with VSRip to idx/sub format (no OCR will be done) and create xsub with srt2bmp/DivxMuxGUi or AviSub, and finally mux video and xsub with any of them

2.use StaxRip(read the guides) on how to do this just by using StaxRIP

3- All in one solutions, DRdivx and DivxConverter

hope this helps

I have a similar issue but have created a file with a number of streams tied together via a menu. I see no way to demultiplex those streams back to the original. Opening them in VDub only gives me the first
stream.

The DivX forums seem to be useless in this regard.
