I cannot seem to play WMV3/9 clips in anything other than Windows Media Player 10. In MPC, ZP and even Graphedit they all lock up XP solid and eventually either time out with a blank screen or a blue screen pointing to nv4_disp.dll (I am using the latest Nvidia drivers with a 6600GT).
Here is a screenshot of Graphedit. If I play it it will lock up the system solid.
I have installed the various codecs for WM3/9. Any ideas? Any idea why WMP10 plays it fine?
EDIT: I figured out the culprit. Regkey for VMR Video Renderer was causing it. I deleted the key and let default Video Renderer play it back and now all players work again. I do not know why the VMR renderer locked up XP. I also tried with the Windows Media 9 Video Renderer that is listed in DShow filters. But it displays incorrectly with the colorspace filter in between. It probably does not require the colorspace filter with that renderer. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can say why. Shrugs. Whatever works I say!
