Pinnacle PCTV Stereo and VirtualDub

I have a Pinnacle PCTV Stereo capture card with the last Pinnacle drivers.

I would like to capture with VirtualDub, but only the 320 x 240 resolution is allowed... The card can capture in any resolution with Media Player Classic.

Is there a driver to enable this card to be used with VirtualDub?

Which version of Vdub do u use?

I use the version 1.6.11 of VirtualDub and the version 5.9 of PCTV driver.

I have the same card, but it might be different chip, since mine is 5 yrs old. :)

I've always had success with it, so here are some hints:

- Update VirtualDub to 1.6.14 (that version fixes some capturing issues)
- Capture with "Preview" or "No Display" - don't turn "Overlay" on!
- Turn "Preview Acceleration" to "Both Fields" (or back to "Off" if it gives you problems.
- Set capture format to YUY2
- Install and use huffyuv for capture codec, if you have enough HD space
- If not, try some MJPEG based codec
- Set capture resolution to multiples of 16 (both horizontal and vertical). Best if you can use 720x576 (if you live in PAL country), 720x480 (NTSC). I've heard that 768x576 (or 768x480) can help with dropped frames, but have not seen difference myself.
- You asked for a driver - I use WDM bt848/bt878 video adquisition driver (http://sourceforge.net/projects/btwincap/)
and it works very well, but the downside is that you lose remote control and/or FM radio and/or stereo (maybe) if you have a card with such features.
- etc. etc. - There are many other things to be played with :)

Thank you GL. Unfortunately, my card has the Phillips SA7134 chipset... If you know some alternative driver for this chipset, inform me, please.

IIRC if you go for the Pinnacle 7134 driver the provided active window equals 720x576/720x480, means you could capture correctly at 720 or 480 width.
If you wanna have a loom at the Philips Reference Driver for 7133-7135 Chipset based cards, take a look in here:http://auzol.narod.ru/files/drivers/saa713x_2310.zip
This one makes it possible to captures at 768xXXX, 704x576, (704x480?), 640x480 etc (except 720xXXX as these would result wrong)
