Hi all,
about a clip,my customer asked for English subtitles and Closed Captions. Can someone explain to me what does he mean by Closed Captions?
Is it the regular subtitles which folows the movie or is it something special?
Best Regards

Well, no, not exactly. Subtitles are bitmapped images that are overlayed on the DVD output by the DVD player. They are controlled from the DVD player remote.
Closed captions are captions that reside in the actual video stream, specifically on Line 21 of the VBI. They are controlled by the "CC" button on the television remote.
Most NTSC commercial DVDs include both subtitles and closed captions. For more information about closed captions go to McPoodle's website (do a forum search).

PAL does not have CC, that is NTSC only. What PAL does have, but is not supported by DVD, is TeleText.
