503 will be my final build. As sharktooth is back I think you guy are interested in his builds. I think he has most of the same patches.

Kudos to ChronoChross for providing patched builds while Sharktooth was away :D

Adub
19th April 2006, 20:14
Sharktooth, do you have all of the patches that Chronocross was using? Last time I looked you only had about 2 or 3 on x264.nl

If you don't would you mind getting them please? I don't mean to be rude or anything it is just that they are really helpfull.

ChronoCross
19th April 2006, 20:34
I placed all the patches I use at Patches (http://chronocrossdev.com/apps/x264/patches/)

In the start menu, it reports "x264 megui".

Perhaps it should say "megui, x264 encoding app"

Very minor. Good to see you back at it.
Thanks.
And to ChronoCross for providing builds.

edit: Is there any chance that you could provide builds of megui that support any patches you might include?

Good to see your builds are back. How are you coping with your health problems?

Sharktooth
20th April 2006, 14:27
thanx everyone. yes, im still fighting with my health problems but i managed to recover all the data i lost (except bookmarks -_-) from the RAID 0 crash, so i have more free time now and thought to restart building x264.

Kostarum Rex Persia
20th April 2006, 14:36
What are your ideas, Sharktooth. For the further developing x264 builds, of course.

Sharktooth
20th April 2006, 14:39
Once MeGUI will have autodownload support the x264 package will be a full OSS encoding solution.

PS: i fixed the installer glitches. Uninstall any previous version before installing rev504.

(r503B) Updated GPAC. Added Haali AQ patch (there are both AQ options now).

That doesn't sound so..... correct

"There are 2 different AQ options now"

"both" as Haali's and pengvado's...

@all: have you any problems with AQ options?

EDIT: AQ was broken in r504. Fixed in r506.

Thanks for the up-to-date, super-fast, high-quality builds!
Do you currently have any plans to update the vfw's patches (like you did in the past with subme7, etc)? Thanks!

Sharktooth

When evaluating predictors to start fullpel motion search, use subpel positions instead of rounding to fullpel.
about +.02 dB, -1.6% speed at subme>=3
patch by Alex Wright.
How does this SVN version of "check subpel predictors" in revision 508 match up with the patch still included in your build?

This SVN addition replaces the old patch, correct?

foxyshadis
25th April 2006, 23:35
I have a theory about this recent rash of updates: alex_w and pengvado have insider information from manao that nero is about to ship their x264 killer, the long-awaited integration of Ateme's latest AVC codec, so they're bulking up as fast as possible for the approaching codec wars. This calls for the encoding of a few heavy metal videos!

... okay, probably not, but it makes a nice story. :p

(I do know that an AAC update is coming this week. So there's a chance!)

@foxyshadis

I think its the pressure Kostarum Rex Persia puts on Alex_W and pengvado. :scared:
