I'm from Sweden so my English is bad but bear with it.

I've been told that the voices in this (http://download.yousendit.com/558EF9B97C26B719) file are perfect but when I play it all s, k's sounds terrible (when they speak).

I have ffdshow-20060405-21H28H42-athlon.exe and ac3filter_1_01a_rc5.exe installed and vsfilter and haali media spliter. I run this in bsplayer and the result is the same with VLC 0.84a.

In ffdshow's audio decoder configuration voice control mixer is ticked and Dolby Surround/Prologic and Normalize matrix too. I have tried changing it to 2/0 stereo and so on but there is no big difference.

Any suggestions?

This guy describes the problem with the terrible sound (http://www.anime-hq.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2436&hl=vortex) but I havn't found vortexmc...

Which encoder use. If you using nero shoud get artifact becouse nero now have most whrose encoder.Hmm I'm not sure how I check that, but I play it in bsplayer. I've checked the settings in bsplayer and this is ticked: Use internal vorbis decoder, For ac3 decoding use AC3 filter (in this list I can choose ffdshow audio decoder, cyberlink and nero which you didn't recommend.) Output device: Directsound: SB Audigy 2 Audio.

I've used the sound aqlways comes out either chopy or to high in volume so the voices get that irritating crackling noise when they say words with s or k in them.

sound more like an encoder problem, try to use newer version, if the problem still persist, try different decoders for playback, if problem still persist....then try to play it on another pc

that's the only to track down problems?

Ok I dragged the file into matroskadiag and this is the result:

Track 2 : Audio

Codec : AAC Low Complexity with Spectral Band Replication (A_AAC/MPEG2/LC/SBR)
Possible filter : CoreAAC
Installed : no
Link : http://coreaac.corecodec.org
Name : AAC 5.1 Japanese
Language : Japanese (jpn)
Sampling Frequency : 22050
Output Sampling Frequency : 44100
Channels : 6

I need a compiled version of CoreAAC I guess. I'm running Win XP. I don't know how to compile so if anyone could help me with this I would be grateful or maybe upload a file.

EDIT: I think I have found it http://www.rarewares.org/files/aac/COREaacDS.zip

Yes is whrost my mistake, Nero 6/7 old encoder and 5.1 encoding are very terrible especialy HE-AAC

@MEDiAHORAN this is decoder, not encoder. OMG did you know what is encoder, and what is decoder.
