I can't even use Adobe reader on my old collage laptop (PII-300mhz/128mb ram) Foxit reader takes 5 times less to start and eats up 2-3 times less memory.

I agree with the person early in the thread that liked the copyright methods used by Valve/Steam. This method makes me want to pay for the game because pirating would be such an unnessesary hassle. Unlike the other DRM's where it is the other way around. I also love how I can download and install the game on any pc without having a disk.

I wish all pc games could be managed by Steam.

I wish all pc games could be managed by Steam.IIRC Steam required online activation for Half-Life2. So what happens if I don't have an internet connection?

I am completely against such things as mandatory 'online activation'. IMO game publishers that do that kind of thing deserve to get their games cracked and stolen.

Sell a good product, and people will buy it.

What? Steam is such a pain in the ass. I just had to work it out once and I will never return to that crap software -_-

Yes, I didn't buy HL2 exactly because of that - and sent them an email "complaining" about it: It was a game I really wanted, but can't agree to those online activation schemes it had.

When will they realize the absurdity of thing? Those who want to pay for a game are treated like criminals, with annoying copy protection schemes and online activations, or need to keep the original CDs in the drive - while those who get a pirate copy have no such trouble. Makes me want to scream!

I just hoped a lot more people did as I did, sending an Email to Valve stating this - maybe if they got several million "complaint" emails, they would consider it...
