OK. Looking at that log, we can see from the Free Disk Space statistics that video processing produced a file of 4GB+. However, multiplexing produced a very small file indeed.

I think the Mplex log file may hold the key. Open it, read it and if it doesn't help, post it here.

This is most odd. The problem from that log is a faulty AC3 audio stream/
I can only imagine either damage to your original discs, or possibly your reader drive is causing this but I can't be sure.

As far as a fix is concerned, get BeSliced here.
http://dspguru.notrace.dk/BeSlicedv0.2.zip

When you launch BeSliced, a small window opens with a face in it. Drag and drop the file "Encoded_Audio_1.ac3" from your movie folder onto the face. Select "Fix" from the menu which appears. This creates a fixed AC3 file in your movie output folder.

Rename Encoded_Audio_1.ac3 to backup.ac3 then rename Encoded_audio_1_Fixed.ac3 back to Encoded_Audio_1.ac3

Launch DVD2SVCD and crash-recover from muxing and cutting.

Alternatively if you uncheck the "Do not convert audio" option in the audio tab, you have to forego the surround audio but it should prevent this problem and retain the automated process.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks! FYI it is happening with all my discs. Also, I tried uninstall/restall on everything, but that didn't help. I'll post a response as soon as I try it.

Not good at all!
I was hoping for the odd one or two errors that you'd get away with.

If you have 2 optical drives in your PC, I would try ripping with the other one.

Otherwise, see if a friend would let you use his machine to try. At least then we'd know if it was the reader or the discs.

Curious....I used dvd decrypter to rip, and the vobs play just fine on my network (NAS/media player). Do you still think that the files were ripped incorrectly?

Well, it seems that the problem is simply, yet confusing to me. I have always been able to use dvd decrypter to rip, then use dvd2svcd to do the rest. NOW, I have to have dvd2svcd do the ripping process. I know that has always been recommended anyway, but I don't understand why all of a sudden I am being forced to do it. Anyway, thanks Nick for the help.

Use DVDDecrypter in ifo mode to demux the AC3 stream. Try fixing with besplit. If works than replace F:\movie files\Encoded_audio_1.ac3 with the new file and restart from muxing.

I wonder if your extracted file (F:\movie files\Encoded_audio_1.ac3) is playable?
