I've been using VirtualDub mostly for encording video (DivX) footages and applying effects on it.

I have foung a subtitler plugin for it not long ago. It's pretty cool. Reads SSA subtitle files. Works great.

The problem is that now I need to Saave AVI as Microrosft DV (well, any other codec would be OK, in case Video quality will be the same and if Adobe Premiere will be able to play it in realtime, without re-rendering it through 1394).

Could you please help me solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. How come "Microsoft DV" is not in CoDec list?

I never heard of Microsoft DV. Where did you get that codec?

When you do not have any video editing boards (such as Matrox, Canopus, Pinnacle....) and you capture Video from General 1394 firewire port with Premiere, that is the compression format that the captured movie has. Adobe Premiere plays this format AVI file in realtime without rendereing.

Microsoft DV: Microsoft was rather late to the DV game, and their DV codec is usually rated rather poorly, although it has gotten better. The main advantage is that the DV codec now ships with Windows, so you should only use Microsoft DV if your movie to play on many machines or if you are not sure if your target machine has any other DV codec installed.
