changing frame rate

I'm just trying to change the frame rate from FILM to PAL in a 6.8GB mkv file, can I do it without remuxing? When I'm trying to use mkvmerge to create a new file (I'm using a timecode file, is this the correct way to change framerate?), mkvmerge crashes, mp4box still can't handle files over 4GB (useless output, the bug is present for months).

Why do you want to change the framerate ?
You can easily create a timecode v3 file and remux your file with that. (the file just takes 2 lines)

mp4box' 4gb output should work fine, maybe you should try updating to a newer build? ;)
