How to add audio?

Hi!
I'm a newbie, and I've got a few questiones abuot audio editing:
Is there an opportunity to add a new audio line to a dvd movie (for example the audio of the dub of the movie in another language)?
Which audio format is suitable to do this?
Can I convert this mono or stereo audio to 5.1 or DTS?
Can I add this into the movie and keep the menu and extras (if it was a movie ripped from a DVD)?

sure, if you reauthor the source with your added audio track

this depends on the space left on your disc and the overall sampling rate (must be below 9,8Mb/s)
possible is WAV, AC3, DTS, MP2 (I´m not sure if it´s part of the standard for NTSC-land)

5.1 is a let´s say channel order, DTS a format, so your "or" makes no sense, but

it´s possible but difficult, you have to use voblanker and manually do some corrections with IFOEdit, check out the German doom9 board, you will find a guide (in German, of course :( )
