If you want it without an installer, you can get all the parts in various archive formats and assemble it yourself.

BHHmPlayer handle pretty much everything, adding more codecs is a bit useless and makes the pack bigger.

so mplayer.exe +vp6/7 codec + RV8/9/10 as your pack would be enough for play generic mpeg4 as divx-xvid and mkv,mov,asf,wmv,mp4,rvmb ?

if i understud correctly isn't need over 20mb of codec pack, because are integrated in mplayer ?

mplayer has everything in ffmpeg, which includes all the ffdshow codecs as well as the splitters for all common file formats (including those you posted, thought it requires real to decode rm streams and wm codecs to decode wmv9), so yes, it is the ultimate player. :p

Pretty much everthing except Quicktime (MOV).

avi,wmv,mpeg,ogm,mkv,mp4, etc are supported

just try it, and if you are missing codecs, add them to /codecs


maybe I should say clearly it's not just a RV/VP player :)

Hmm...
I wonder why ?:
1.This Player (1.0) doesn't have GUI choice to control
the brightness,saturation etc
2.The subtitle was not suit (too fast)
is it have choice to control it

Totally better the VLC iif for no other reason than it can play Real Media files (while VLC cannot :devil: ).

It depends what sort of pack you are aiming for.
If you are aiming for a "plays everything" pack, just make a new K-Lite or ACE Mega Codec Pack (except with less bugs - I've personally helped three people who have had system corruption after uninstalling the KLite pack, and I'm suprised I've seen none from ACE or the Nimo pack).
On the other hand, you can create a pack that only plays normal files, and nothing that is unusual - for example, the CCCP. In this pack we have the Haali Splitter + ffdshow + directvobsub + MPV decoder, and that's it. If people want to play real or quicktime files, we point them towards real/QT alternative, because the vast majority don't need to.

As a side question, why did you decide to use mplayer rather than generic directshow components? Directshow gives the user far more control over the player they would like to use.

somebody from another forum I go to (the guy pretty much encodes anime for the site into mp4 or rmvb) recommended me to do the following with your DPP:

You can get much faster playback if you replace mplayer.exe with an optimized mplayer build: http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/mplayer/ (be sure to download the file specific to your cpu version). Also if you want it to play RealVideo files, download this: http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/windows-essential-20060501.zip

Should I follow his recommendations, especially about the opitimized player build?

AMD Sempron 2500+ (32-bit)

512mb ddr
32mb TNT2

BTW, he also said that:

It's a good player (DPP) except for one flaw, It can't read subtitles embedded in MP4 files. :sly: WTF!? Last time I tried one of his encodes (MP4) it worked pretty well.

It's always better to get an optimized build that suits your CPU!

THe MP4 files i was talking about (that supposedly don't work with this player) were those that use softsubs, e.g., subs which aren't embbeded directly to the video.
