I have a video I captured using camtasia and the angelportion (mpeg-4/nAVI) codec. I would like to edit some of the video with vdub then convert it to xvid. Vdub wont open this video and crashes everytime I try. Can someone help? Is there another program I can use?

another program for what? editing the video or converting to xvid?
what you could do is edit it in movie maker (if you dont want to download anything) then export as DV AVI and then use vdub to convert to xvid

This doesn't appear to be analog video related -- camtasia is screen capture. Moving to VirtualDub forum for problem analysis and resolution.

@Ciscokid2005

Hi!

1) Are you able to play the .AVI that you captured?

2) Have you use the "AngelPotion" codec modification of the DivX v.3.11alpha codec successfully before?

3) What do you hope to gain by converting your captured .AVI from DivX to XviD compression?

1) Yes...plays fine

2) I dont know what that is.

3) I would like to simply edit the vid...then maybe convert to a more common format...doesnt matter if its mpeg or xvid

2) It's the codec you used to capture, you said it yourself in your previous post :confused:

3) You could leave it AngelPotion after editing: players that will play DivX will also play AngelPotion just fine
