View Full Version : PC vs. TV levels in YV12? Newb question

Based on some of the example scripts in this forum, I just tried adding ColorYUV(levels="PC->TV") to my scripts and the results are MUCH better when outputting to my tv (using component video). Without the ColorYUV filter, skin tones had a very noticeable reddish tint on my tv; they now look much more natural.

Based on reading the DGIndex user manual, I had thought that it was generally better to use PC color levels. Is this only if you're outputting to a PC monitor? All my sources are NTSC DVDs. I guess what I'm basically wondering is if I "should" get better results converting PC->TV, or if there is potentially something else wrong in my encoding process. Thanks!
