I've waited for AVC HP from Nero for a long time. How can i encode AVC video compatible with Nero Digital?

I need maximum quality. I've tried to use x264 HP, but when i try to play video with Nero ShowTime, I see artifacts instead of video.

Which codec I should use? What settings?

- What settings for x264 did _you_ actually use ?
- What container did you put your video in ? (avi/mp4/mkv ?)
- What format was the audio track ? (mp3/aac/ogg/ac3/...)
- What revision of x264 did you use ?
- Are you using the very latest version of nero digital ?
- What resolution was your encode ?
- Was is interlaced ?

The answers to these questions could all be a cause to what is happening to you and would help us to help you ;) You might even have been victim of a bug in one of the tools/Dshow filters you used (you need so many nowadays ... it's sad to say ^^')

Which codec I should use? What settings?there is a bug in the nero avc decoder leading to artefacts in some cases. the nero crowd knows about this bug but i dunno if it has been fixed already, you might want to update to the latest nero7

I have Nero 7 (not latest update).

You missed the container :p

I've been having problems playing ASP files encoded with nero (ASP+AAC in MP4) : the playback was jerky in MPC ...

Rather the opposite to you, but still quite annoying ...

Could I suggest you try downgrading to nero 6 ? or does it not support high profile ? I've often read round here that nero 7 just wasn't mature enough compared to nero 6 ...

MP4 container of course.
