In a nutshell, does anyone know of an app which will let you essentially stream the content of a spanned rar archive directly without having to decompress it, so you can watch a video say, as it downloads, or so you can watch an xvid you've downloaded without having to extract the rars first?
Think of what XBox Media Centre allows you to do (you can begin to watch a file contained within spanned archive the moment the first file (the .rar) is complete, as long as you download the other .rars in realtime (or quicker than), the file will just play to the end with the XBMC software transparently decompressing and playing as it goes, without any separate extraction required.
It's really hacking me off that I've thus far been unable to find a piece of software which'll afford me this functionality, I mean hell if an XBox can do it, PCs must be able to do it (given the right software). I thought I'd ask the experts, and most of them hang around on here. ;)
Any suggestions / pointers to software which'll allow me to do this?
