Hi guys,
I need help on something,i am about to author my first DL project, what program do you use to author and set the layer-break,and is it as simple as setting a chapter point? also does the authoring program give you a safe area where you should place the L-B(what i mean is you cant set the L-B to soon and waste space can you),and when finished, how do you add the dvd-rom folder?
sorry for all the questions, and i hope it all makes sense, but I dont have alot of DL discs to be wasting, like i said this will be a first for me
thanks for any and all help

For the second question (How to add the DVDROM folder):
Simple place the folder into your DVD structure in the root folder. DVD Player won't access them, only the PC. You can also add an autorun.inf.
For the first question:
I realy don't know, cos I didn't play with DL.

You can use PgcEdit to create an ISO file. This program will set the lb.

The authoring application (Scenarist, DVDMaestro etc) supports dual layer disc so you can set the layer break directly inside the authoring app. If you need to do the DLT for mastering the authoring app could also output the image to 2 DLT (1 DLT for each layer). If you follow this procedure setting the layer break is very easy (you select the cell where you want the layer break and, if it's allowed, the layer break is set). The "background" operations (shifting staring sectors to have a layer break in a sector divisible by 16) is made by the authoring app. If you only need to output the project to a DVD+R DL you can use PGCEdit (like said by dialysis1). Remember that DVD+R DL are pre-formatted to be ONLY OTP so your project couldn't be PTP. For mastering (pressed DVD-ROM) you can have a PTP disc (which affect how layer break could be set). Finally if you want you can use a premastering application like Sonic ROM Formatter or Gear Pro Mastering which allow you to import the VOB/IFO/BUP and set the layer break directly in the premastering application but it's quite "low level" method so you need a deep knowledge about DVD (anyway for Gear there is an exaustive tutorial for setting layer break for PTP and OTP)

Yes. You compile the project, and then open the ifo with pgcedit.
Read that guide.
