Hello, I'm a newbie at Scenarist and am running into what I'm sure is some easy to solve hiccups. I've had to self-teach like I'm sure a majority of you guys have had to do, so excuse some of the embarrassing questions.

A little background, I am making a work-related disc with 45 video clips divided into three submenus.

The first issue I'm running into: When I apply subtitles/subpictures to various video clips and soft sim it, the subtitles are forced on, which is what I want, yet when I mux the content onto a DVD-R, the subtitles need to be surfed on. I tried selecting the forced start under sim window> subpicture and highlight to no avail. Any suggestions or guesses?

Also, a rather silly question, but I'm having no luck blocking the chapter skip forward user op on video clips. Select the video clip, open the property browser window, select UOP, and check the UOP7 box should do the trick, yes?

Any info would be great, thanks guys.

Some questions:

Are you working with subtitles from a .sst file or are your subpictures intended to be for button highlights (button over video)?

If it's subtitles:

How many subtitle streams are there per video?
If there's more than one, have you got a language selection menu?

Regarding your UOP problem, disabling UOP7 (in each relevant PGC) should do the trick but you could give UOP1 a try as well.

Yeah, I was working from a .sst file but I think I figured it out and I was right, it was an embarrassing question. I just needed to set the sub-picture to the stream in question with a pre-command. Why I was looking elsewhere I'll never know :o

It looks like UOP1 or UOP7 did the trick as well...kept them both checked with the wanted results....

Thank you, Corion!
