let me encode avi to put on disk then burn it.i seem to only be able to find trial versions and they leave water marks.i hope i dont have to end up buying the software lol

DVD2SVCD is one of the best pieces of software to convert avi to DVD.
You can get it here (http://www.dvd2dvd.org)
Use it with QuEnc (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/quenc.htm)
It's all freeware en it will give you better results then the payware transcoder-software.

cheers,i did see this software but didnt know if it would do the burning to disk afterwords.i did download avi2dvd.em tryn it now,so hopefully it turns out right

Just read the forum to get some information about this program.
You can set D2S to create an ISO ready to burn with IMGBurn.
Always check the outputted VIDEO_TS before burning with your favorite software player.
