View Full Version : Haali - Matroska compatability issue

There are two splitters available for windows handling Matroska containers. Haali & Gabest.

I've got a number of files created with Gabest's muxer that won't play properly with Haali's splitter (the video hangs but seeking works but the video halts again after a couple seconds). Interestingly, using Gabests spliter and then muxing it with Haali's results in a file that doesn't have the problem.

Yes I did make sure I had the most up to date versions first. The problem probably stems from the fact that I was using ASF2MKV on a mms stream, which could result in packets out of order and lost.

(I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I saw the other Matroska thread, in retrospect maybe this should have gone in the "New and alternative a/v containers")

When I played that using Haali Media Splitter v1.6.87.20 (Date: 25/02/2006) and Media Player Classic (latest Celtic Druid build), the video didn't even show up. It only showed up when I would seek around the video then it would just freeze on the frame that I sought to. I then turned on the internal MPC Matroska splitter and played it again and the video worked just fine.
