Hi,
I got my hands on really badly authored DVD that in the first 8 minutes has repeated scenes with different languages. But those scenes aren't important (just story told). Problem was probably caused by inserted subtitles (wasn't me) since there should be about 7 subtitles, now there is only 1 and I think those scenes repeat because there should be one for each language selection.

I need an easy fix. Can you recommend something? It is important that the menu is kept.
I've been thinking about either:
-first chapter starts after 8 minutes
-cut out first 8 minutes

I would prefer something that doesn't require to go through authoring process, meaning that I would like to leave vob files alone.

What you have is a messed up COPY of a DVD that had a "credit block". A credit block is a multiangle block where each angle is a different language. Improperly copied the previously interleaved angles all play in a sequence of short clips.
Since this is not a legally obtained DVD I have to close the thread and warn you to read our rules, especially rule #6.
