I processed a disc using dif4u/scenaid/muxman.
I can load the generated scp file into muxman, but when I press start I get an error about a wrong reference.
I'll post the log (multiplex section) here.

I understand theres a reference to something that doesn't exist, but how can that happen I didn't do any fancy preprocessing or anything so it should go without problems ?
Is there a way to solve this ? I tried to process the disc again using the same method, but same error occured, so it's a returning error.

Same error in Scenarist.

I'm not sure if this is what you've asked for.
I loaded the VTS_01.ifo file from the iso I used as the source.
Then I went to VTS_PGCITI and picked VTS_PGC_3 and copied all info there and added the txt here as an attachment.

If that was not what you asked, please give me some guidelines since I'm not very experienced with looking for technical information (I'm used to have a no problem result, so never had to look :) )

Thanks in advance!

can you mention what dvd movie this is and what region? also attach your entire muxman.log and scenaid.log.

I only kept the muxman.log file, don't have the scenaid.log file anymore since I cleared my working folder to process another disc.

I'll process it again so I can post those log files here.
The disc is the extras disc from the 2DVD R2 PAL edition from Doctor Zhivago. I have done disc 1 already and that one didn't have any problems, only disc 2 gives me this problem.

I'll post the log files as soon as I have them!

I processed the disc using DVDRB without any problems, so I'm good for now. But I'd still like to know what went wrong so I'll know what to do in the future.

Heres the ifo Information from VTS01 (hope I have the correct info now):

This shows 4 VobIDs, whereas the MuxMan log shows it multiplexed only 3 - this is the cause of the missing scene. But why did MuxMan not include VTS01_3_Track? Were there any errors in the log prior to beginning the mux, like a rejected file? Very likely MuxMan did not correctly parse the definition of PGC4, as that is the one referencing VTS01_3_Track.

Is it possible to create DVD's with "mixed": -Menu attributes:
Video: MPEG-1 720x480 (NTSC) (NTSC 525/60) (4:3) (pan-scan & letterboxed) andTitle Set (Movie) attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (4:3) (not specified perm.display) ?

Cheers

"MPEG-1 720x480 (NTSC) (NTSC 525/60) (4:3) (pan-scan & letterboxed)" is the interpretation of the video attribute bytes if they are 00 00. If there is no video for the menu domain then the video attributes for the menu domain are meaningless.

Hi folks,

I just downlaoded and installed Muxman 0.15P freeware to test it out and get a feelign for the tool to see if I like it.

I muxed up one movie that I had to correct hiss sound on it ... muxman 0.15P performed A-OK.

On my second try and playing around the Muxman worked but the "GREEN" Status Bar after about few minutes just STAYED STILL and did not show the progress ... the only way that I knew Muxman is still working is becasue I had the "Hour Glass" going and I put my hand on my computer and I could tell that my Processor is still at it and going.

I wonder what clobbered the Muxman GUI!?!?!?
QUESTION: How can I fix it back up again? Would simple un-install and install again fix this? Or is it a Known Permanent PRoblem?

Thanks,
G!

Hi,

I suffer same inconvenience. I observe the evolution of files in TS_VIDEO. When ifo is generated, work is done.

Hi Avil,

Thanks for your reply ... so, I myself didn't cause something go wrong ... I was playing with it last night and I think I found out ... why the "GREEN" status bar stops ... as long as I don't touch the MuxMan's screen after the activity is started ... the Bar works and it doesn't lock up.

Thanks,
G!

Try IFoedit or DVDplanner, the 0.15P is a free version and gives some troubles somewhere, unless you donate and get the pro version of muxman, which works good.

The glitch is just related to the graphic interface. The functionality and the progress of work is fine even thought there is no refresh of the program window. The user have just to wait for the authoring process to complete...

Being MuxMan 15P completely free I would say it's really a minor issue. Also, this release of the program is much more than a demo version: it completely supports scripting, allowing to perform very complex authoring tasks...

@techmule
I share the suggestion of upgrading to the Pro version of MuxMan. DvdPlanner is also a very nice and powerful authoring program. Leave Ifoedit to do ifo editing. This program is a milestone in the DVD backup arena; nevertheless it's becoming obsolete; also its authoring capabilities are limited and suffer from severe problems.

Cheers,
SD

Probably its a generic issue with ver 0.15p, see my logs below

It completes the video encoding just fine, but then looks for reference to a non-existant segment.

Although i understand that ver 0.15p is for demo only and free.

EDIT: I investigated a bit further and found that its not a problem with muxman, its the celltimes.txt created by PGCdemux (hello, jsoto). its creating an extra reference for chapters. for eg. in my case I had only 52 chapters in the source DVD but 53 entries in the celltimes.txt. I removed the last entry and there it was, muxed without an error. So thats the problem for ppl who are getting similar errors.
