I have used this progto make single disc versions of fellowship of the rings EE and the return of the king EE, the problem is when i try to do exactly the same with the two towers EE the whole process takes an absolute age 1 and a half hours into the encode and the remaining time is 4 and a half hours and rising, whereas the other two encodes were done in 1 and a half hours ???????? can anyone help please before the time limit which is 14 days runs out on TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Hi!
1) What type of editing are you doing that creates the need to use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" rather than something like DVD Shrink?
2) Try shutting down your system and doing a cold reboot

Hi, i'm joining the two sets of vob files from the extended edition LOTR discs, to make a single disc EE version of each film.
I have tried doing the two towers with the retail version which I own, and with a shrink backup which has just the stereo soundtrack and the elvish speak subs on them.
I have in fact finally done it by choosing none from the transcode target size so TMPGEnc didn't waste time shrinking the file down, it still took just over 3 hours.
I let DVDshrink do the shrinking. I'll now join three films together with TMPGEnc, it should result in a excellent quality 24 gig file size Lord Of The Rings Trilogy on my hard drive and then I'll let DVDshrink analyse it and write it to a DL disc.
I wonder what the final picture quality will be like ???

I have just discovered that the elvish subs havent been transferred byTMPGEnc, oh man i am useless at this all i want is to have the films on 3 discs and with subtitles its just too difficult for me :(
I don't have the inclination to learn how to use ifoedit voblanker or whatever the progs are called when i will only be using them on Lord Of The Rings :( :( :(

I'll let DVDshrink analyse it and write it to a DL disc.many postings at these forums have indicated that it would NOT be wise to use DVD Shrink to burn a DL DVD (Purported problem creating proper layer break). It's suggested that you create an .ISO image file and use a program such as IMGBurn to burn your DL media

all i want is to have the films on 3 discsHonestly, I think you're expecting too much. Considering the length of those three films and the high action and occasional bursts of color, putting all three, in DVD format, on one DL piece of media, will assuredly yield poor quality visual results...

I want each of the films on a seperate DL disc with subtitlesIf you can live without menus, for one disc for each of the movies, use DVD Shrink in "Re-author" mode to join that movie's parts and then compress. Details can be found here:

Hi, I've just done that and got all the commentries i want and the subtitles i want but there seems to be 2 seperate files on the discs rather than 1 film file and my dvd player stops when it comes to the end of the 1st file, is there any way to make it so that it is 1 complete file, I aint bothered about having a menu on the disc.

Perhaps the simplest way (Others may suggest alternatives) - Load the two Titles (created by DVD Shrink) into DVD2One and use the "Join" function of DVD2One (Click on the downarrow to select the desired method of joining)...

TMPGEnc DVD Author does not support subtitles.
