I have a mpg made from 9 short videos that I joined in Intervideo Windvd creator2. it is 2.63 gigs in size, encoded in mpeg2 video and mpeg2 audio. When I author this to DVD with only the menus that Intervideo adds without my help I get a DVD of 5 gigs in size. Does this sound right?
I want this to go on a DVD5 not a double layer DVD9
I am trying to shrink this dvd but havent mastered that yet.

Hi!
1) Is the original audio 44,100Hz or 48,000Hz?
2) Does Intervideo Windvd creator2 allow you to set the video bitrate?
3) What is the filesize of the menu?

1.Audio was mono sampled at 11khz
2.Intervideo will let me save the project to output file with various qualities and formats but i cannot set a certain bitrate. But saving to output file will not give me the files i need for a dvd.I have to use "Make Movie" which allows 2 settings for dvds (1 hour or 2hour) both settings say they will produce the same size file
3. All non VOB files add up to about 300 kb

1) The DVD-compliant audiostream (PCM [WAV], .AC3, or 48,000Hz .MP2] will be SIGNIFICANTLY larger than the original 11,000Hz monaural audiostream
2) The menu is in a .VOB - likely VTS_01_0.VOB

Problem Solved : I guess I had a bad IFO file or something went amiss during encoding as some file listed more vob files than were present. So I started the project from scratch again and came up with a nice 4.3 gig DVD with menus and all. Thanks for your input.
