ok i've got a multiangle anime dvd. the problem i'm having with this dvd (burst angel vol1) is that there's a duplicate of one of the episodes JUST for the commentary track. what i wanna do is delete the PGC of the duplicate episode and transfer the commentary track to the original episode's PGC before i reencode it to dvd5.
can someone help me out on how to do this or at least point me in the right direction? i know i really can't do much with vobblanker since it doesn't handle multiangles and the streams i wanna work with are on a multiangle VTS. what programs/tool will i need to successfuly pre-process this?

Why do you want to merge the PGCs? I suppose that only the PGCs are duplicated, not the VOB cells. So, removing the second PGC will not help regaining disc space.

no, i'm not looking to merge the pgcs and the duplicate pgc aren't made of reused cells.
it's kinda like this ...
VTS_02
-PGC1 title1 - 4602MB (episodes 1-4 are here)
-PGC2 title2 - 111MB (extras)
-PGC3 title2 - 60MB (extras)
-PGC4 title3 - 952MB (extras - duplicate of episode 4 but with commentary)
-PGC5 title4 - 333MB (extras)
-PGC6 title5 - 773MB (extras)
both the original and duplicate EACH take up disc space ... i just wanna use the commentary track of PGC4 on the cells of PCG1 that make up episode 4. this way i can remove the duplicate cells in PGC4 to save space.

That's not easy. I really don't know how to do that.
Some suggestions, though:
You have to demux the whole titleset, then shift the commentary audio so that is is properly aligned with ep 4 in title 1, and then remux the whole VTS. After that, you will be able to blank the contents of title 3.
The problem is that is is not easy to remux the titleset while keeping the original structure. It should be possible to do that with Muxman, but honestly, I don't know exactly how.
Another method: demux only ep 4 of title 1 and title 3. Remux the ep 4 of title 1 with the additional audio track. Then replace it in the original DVD with VobBlanker. You will have to change the audio streams and VM commands to reference the new stream. I'm not sure this method works, because the new stream will probably have the same ID than the original one.
Good luck!

Just like r0lZ said there is a big chanse that PGC4 and PGC1 use same cells in vob file with all the audio streams. PGC1 uses one of streams, PGC 4 another (with commentaries).
If you are not sure what is this about try importing the disk in DvdReMake Pro and delete PGC4. Is there big size reduction? If there is no, then cells are reused.
Otherwise, you can replace blocks of episode 4 in PGC 1 with blocks in PGC4 with DvdReMake Pro but it may not help if streams IDs of main audio and commentaries are different. What you may want to do in this case is to delete chapters (with corresponding programs/cells from PGC1) from title 1 for episode 4; add new chapters from PGC 4 and add navigation command to play PGC 4 after PGC1 is done playing.
edited: Ops. r0lZ was faster :)

Dimad, I don't think rail wants to replace ep 4 in title1 by title 3. He wants to keep it, but add the commentary.
If the VOB cells are shared, it's really easy. It is sufficient to declare the missing audio stream in title 1.
But if the cells are not shared, it is necessary to copy the audio stream in the right chapter of title 1. Is it possible with DRM?
@rail: you can also test if the cells are shared by looking at the VOB/Cell IDs in the PGC Editor. If the same IDs are present in both PGCs, then it's the easy case. Let us know...

yah i was afraid that i'd have to go the route of de/remuxing ... the other big problem is that the entire vts_02 is multiangle and i don't wanna mess around with it as i'm still borderline n00b when it comes to editing the dvd structure.

i just realized something that COULD make things a bit easier ... what about if i just delete episode 4 in pgc1 and just remap all those references to play the the duplicate episode in pgc4? could that work?

Yes, it could be a solution, if the original audio is present also in PGC4.
If it's the case, just note the VOB/Cell IDs of PGC 4, then go in PGC1, and remap the V/CIDs of the original ep4 with them. Then, you can safely delete the original cells in PGC4, but since you need at least one cell in the PGC, you will have also to blank the last one, unless there is already a tiny cell at the end of the PGC. (To blank a cell, use the same V/CID remapping function, but select "Create a new blank cell".) Finally, strip the unreferenced cells with FixVTS.
You will probably have also to create the new audio stream assignment in PGC 1 (in the PGC editor), and rebuild the domain streams attributes table (quit the PGC Editor, right click on any PGC in VTST 1, and select "Domain Streams Attributes". If PgcEdit displays a warning, accept it, and fill in the language code and audio attributes in the new stream.)

But if the cells are not shared, it is necessary to copy the audio stream in the right chapter of title 1. Is it possible with DRM?
DvdReMake does not have a real multiplexor yet, so it can't insert a stream.
