hi,
ive got a problem with some ntsc material. ive encoded it the same was as i did with all my other dvds (mostly PAL) my problem is after batchccews performs the 2:3 pulldown the material is itnerlaced (looks like a ghost effect on movements).
when i encode without 2:3 pulldown the material is running at 25 fps and looks great. i tried many encoding options like topfield first, alternate scan etc. i think all options. its always the same, after 2:3 the picture looks strange. w/o it looks got :-/ hope someone could help me or give me an advice
cheers Daniel

well.. if you leave out pulldown and it's 25fps.. then it can't be an NTSC source.. those are either 29.97 or 23.976.

for 23.976 material, pulldown is needed. what are you using for playback ?

set the 'mark all frames progressive' option to 'on' in settings . that may help. the decoder in the dvd software is supposed to see that its progressive and just display the progressive at 24fps, not the psuedo interlace pulldown causes. the default pulldown.exe alternates progressive interlaced and may be confusing the player.. setting all progressive may avoid that. although id have to say i havent noticed interlace artifacts when playing back my backups (im in ntsc land)
