Plays on DVD player but not on computer.

I bought a DVD burner a few months ago because my 4 year old wreaks havoc on my DVD collection. I've been backing up the discs that he handles the most.

I've come upon a new problem that only surfaced after recent reformat of my C drive a few weeks ago.

Backed up discs (old and new) will not play on my computer. They play perfectly on my DVD player but the computer only sees them as blank discs.

I've tried a number of programs that should allow me to see the files but they all see only a blank disc.

My DVD software is currently:
Nero Recode
DVD Shrink
AnyDVD
Virtual Daemon (although I'm not sure what this actually does)

As I said, this is a recent problem after my reformatting. I can only assume that I failed to install some crucial piece of software when I reinstalled everything.

Did you re-install a media player?

Yes, I can play the originals fine on my computer but the backups will only play on my DVD player.

Hi!Backed up discs (old and new) will not play on my computer.At the risk of asking a VERY obvious question - Were you previously able to play these very same burned DVDs on this same system, using the same DVD burner or DVD-ROM?
