In Nero Recode 2, the matrices are customizable, and I'm recording from a Fraps video game PC capture. What matrix do you reccomend? I just learned about matrices this morning, and I thought that it might make my reencodings look much better if I had the right matrix. So what do you reccomend?

What do you mean? Come on don't give these arrogant remarks, If what I'm talking about doesn't make sense then just say so and explain why.

And if you took the time to learn some more, you would gain an understanding about how different matrices affect encoding, what characteristics of matrices, make certain matrices more suitable to different material/bitrates.
You would gain the knowledge to help explain matrices to other people.
Instead, your taking the easy way out.
Having said all that. It has been said atleast 1000 times (no joke) that the only way to truly know which matrix is suitable for yourself, is to try all the different matrices, and see which ones your eyes like best.

Or rather what your source likes best.
There's only 4-5 custom avc matrices here, all in one thread, it's not too hard to encode 2 minutes using each. I'd stick to the high bitrate ones, a lot of unfiltered games have lots of edges and corners that softer ones will maul. (Unless you like the effect. Would look nicer prefiltering though.)
