This is an issue thats bugged me for my entire life, and until now I haven't tried to solve it. Every single time in my long history of making VCD's, the menu's dont work, you cant select a video and press enter, its just a frozen screen. This has happened to every VCD i have ever watched that has a menu. This happens to my friends too. Once someone else was able to bypass the problem by pressing some button on his remote, but how do you get these menu's to work in the first place? If they dont work what do I do to just see the movie?

I burned my VCD's from Nero Burning Rom and Roxio.

Past experience show that VCD menus require you to use the number buttons rather than directional and enter/ok.

What do you mean?

On the remote?

I don't have number buttons on the remote.

siddharthgandhi - Have you considered the possibility that your problem could be your VCD player? I am guessing that maybe you do not have a DVD player but you have a VCD only player. It could be that your VCD player doesn't understand menus. I have only seen a few VCDs with menus, but they all worked on my DVD player. If you don't have a remote control with number buttons, you probably have a low function VCD only player. I don't think there is anything you can do to make menus work.

Burned. Past Tense. I burned it then, i dont burn it anymore. But i have VCD's of OLD videos that i want to get to work. But that doesnt matter. Its irrelevant to my MAIN question. My main question is....why would this happen and what do I do to stop it next time I burn a VCD?
