I have january first version of mencoder. I input a AVS which ahve audio but mencoder doesn't reconize it. Is it normal?

Yes. As far as I know at least. The avs input code simply doesn't support audio.

There seems to be some audio-via-avs supporting code in mencoder, but it's disabled by default. Don't know why. Maybe you should try asking Sherpya (avs in mencoder developer) about it.

i tried enable the audio decoding support in avs,
it seems doesnt work if the avs contain audio,
mplayer just give me a "flash" when i try to play with it,
same thing happen with mencoder too.
so i think the audio support is disable by default because its broken?

Compiled and worked here. Mostly silence though with a few clicks. So yeah, broken. Audio works fine in ffmpeg, requires AVSredirect though.
